China demanded an explanation from Brazil Monday after the far-right government's education minister linked the coronavirus pandemic to the Asian country's "plan for world domination," in a tweet imitating a Chinese accent.
In the latest incident to strain ties between Brasilia and Beijing, Education Minister Abraham Weintraub insinuated China was behind the global health crisis.
"Geopolitically, who will come out stronger from this global crisis?" he wrote on Twitter Saturday.
"Who in Brazil is allied with this infallible plan for world domination?"
In the original Portuguese, his tweet substituted the letter "r" with capital "L" -- "BLazil" instead of "Brazil," for example -- in a style commonly used to mock a Chinese accent.
It was also a reference to a character from a popular Brazilian comic strip, "Monica's Gang."
The embassy condemned Weintraub's "absurd and despicable" tweet, calling it "highly racist."

People all over the world are realizing you know 20 years ago the world did fine without China and all its cheap crap - we can again.
The world doesn't need what China has stole and their ground through sick labour force is making. In not so much time everything they have been making will be made elsewhere and better.
China has demonstrated that they are the disgusting culture and nation any objective logical analysis done by a thoughtful person would conclude, further China is run by a coward moronic tyrant Xi Jingpeng, a hapless soon to be extinct wanna be Mao. Just the latest emperor with his boot on the throat of all his peasants.
I smell panic and desperation in this ham handed propaganda blitz.

The Brazilians are big on joking about everything. Especially something concerning authority figures. Jair Bolsonaro makes wise cracks a lot, sometimes he overdoes it.
He needs to take out a full page ad in one of the major newspapers that says the Brazilian/Portuguese equivalent of “ Hey China, you want an apology? Apologize this!” with a an upraised middle finger prominently displayed.
The CCP does a great job shutting down the criticism from their own people, but to shut everyone else up, they rely on the political correctness of the kowtowing media. Brazillian media, as well as our own should be roundly condemned for doing China’s job in the field.
I really would love to see an audit to see how much stock in these global media companies are owned by the ChiComs.
