My dad had me apply gin to toothaches as a child and whiskey to everything else — LoL even for antiseptic purposes!
And speaking of gin...Gin and Tonic became a ‘thing’ as a way to address malaria. (The quinine in tonic.)

According to the interview, they have dedicated an entire distillery to producing hand sanitizer.
Apparently they are producing hand sanitizer at Jack Daniels 2, while Jack Daniels 1 remains in complete original business focus.
I want one. :)

I keep reading all these stories about distilleries and other operations converting to make hand sanitizer, but I’m not finding any on store shelves. Ditto for rubbing alcohol. We have enough to get by for maybe a month (hand washing is better when possible, of course), but it’s a bit unnerving to go in for groceries every 6 days or so and not see this stuff. TP too.
It’s unfortunate that: A) There must be some serious hoarding going on; B) Stores did not limit quantities sooner.
I usually have a Schweppes tonic a vodka daily. Especially these days.
I do it for the Quinine. ;-)

They'll have to use the fresh distillate at full proof, not the reduced-proof, aged stuff. Moonshine, essentially. Gotta be 120 proof or higher to be effective.
I still think the fuel-blending ethanol already loaded in rail tank cars should've been used first.
