Prednisone is an immunosuppressant, its also a corticosteroid so it functions as a hormone and regulates other things.

Plaquenil is specific for autoimmune issues...So same area code, but not the same city

Okay, thanks. My nephro had told me that one reason I was given prednisone was for its immunosuppressant property, which suprised me. I had thought it was entirely to suppress inflamation. But then maybe the two are intertwined. Plaquenil’s action sounded somewhat similar to my ear.
