I am not trying to be an asshole, truly even thought I am occasionally more emotional than I want to be. Give my colleague a break though, insinuating alcoholism is beneath you...
Ok that being said, I hear what you are saying and it may prove true at the bench level. What my problem is that getting zinc into a critically ill patient presents a hell of a routine problem. TPN increases the respiratory quotient and zinc is a trace metal that comes in TPN. If the patient has a dobhoff getting zinc through what amounts to 3 feet of tubing with a tiny little radius — well it clogs things up. I am unaware of IV zinc preparations but will check it out.
Plaquenil may be the best at quelling the autoimmune response. It is not being used as a direct antiviral. I believe that perhaps the good thing to come out of this will be a golden age of virology and treatment.
All the best to you
I have a friend who assisted the covid advisory council. Won’t go into his identity. There is some concern that this virus will continue to mutate and pose a problem every year, just like the flu. So, this may be a mess for many years. Heard some other stuff that is a bit on the disturbing side.
Sublingual zinc to the tune of at least 22mg per day will quickly increase available ions for quick results. As you so well know, it is the immune system which kills off the virus.
Be of good cheer and 'don't let the eosinaphils getcha.'
I am totally a layman but I have been thinking that for a couple of weeks. The level of attention given this by all quarters of the government and private sector is really firing up everyone involved in the field of virology.
