My interpretation was that he was saying that although the nation could potentially get “back to business” relatively soon, but we still would need to modify our behaviors for quite a bit longer. That’s not an unreasonable thing to say, but he said it in a way that could easily be misinterpreted or twisted.
“The good doctor is right about us never going back to “normal” again. We won't go back to depending on China for 95% of our medical supplies. We won't let our critical emergency supplies get so low. We won't let hospitals get away from not having enough of their own supplies. We won't have leaky borders where diseases can ride in with illegals.”
