Lara Trump: Broad coalition forming to close China's bat, cat, and dog meat markets
Washington Examiner ^ | April 06, 2020 | Paul Bedard

A politically diverse and broad coalition is forming to pressure China to close the wild food markets of bat, cat, and dog meat blamed for the outbreak of the coronavirus and a number of other pandemics, including the 2003 SARS epidemic.

Embraced by Lara Trump, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and several animal rights activists, including the Humane Society of the United States, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and Animal Wellness Action, the goal is to pressure Beijing directly to close the markets like the one in Wuhan, which is believed to have sold an infected animal for a family “feast.”

While still a loose group of advocates, its efforts are starting to focus on stopping the reopening of the “wet markets,” another name for live and dead animal meat markets, in China, which claims the crisis is nearly over.

“It is undeniable that the risks posed by ‘wet markets’ are too great and the cruelty too severe to allow them to operate even one more day,” said Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law and top reelection campaign official. “I hope for the sake of humanity the country immediately discontinues this horrific and cruel tradition,” she told Secrets.

The effort has no official leader, but people close to Trump said that she would be open to helping build the coalition in a personal capacity unrelated to her campaign duties.

How about closing Wuhan’s bio-weapons labs where the virus started?

If I was a bat-eating Chinaman, I would tell any foreigner trying to change my diet to pi$$ off.

How bout doing both? China’s unsanitary food practices have been blamed by scientists for causing disease for many, many years. It’s like in the US before Food and Drug laws came into being. Only worse. We’re talking about the slaughtering of dogs, cats, and bats on the spot for paying customers.

Blamed by whom?
These markets are a distraction, a shiny object China hopes to hold our attention with while they hide their bio-weapons program.

Amen.

How about closing all ChiCom imports?

Bring back American manufacturing...of meds, supplies, electronics, etc?

BS. Their filthy animal-slaughtering practices have been condemned as unsanity breeding grounds for disease FOR DECADES. Just do some online searches. Western scientists and epidemiologists have been writing about the problem since the 50s at least. They live in a world we did away with more than a century ago when we brought in food and drug laws. But they’re worse - slaughtering bats, cats and dogs in front of the paying customers.

It would be most helpful if they could keep the virus delivery system on lockdown...

Getting China to do something properly is like dealing with a stubborn, know-it-all teen who behaves like a real POS. Only instead of a good parent, we have the wimpy one who gives in to everything and lets the kid run the house: The UN.

Unless we start pulling manufacturing back to the US, or at least to a reliable ally (preferably temporary), China will be allowed to run amok.

No matter what POTUS does the globalists/multi national corporations will still favor China/Vietnam/Etc. over Team USA.

Once saw a pair of actual tiger paws displayed for sale at a street market in Guangzhou, one of the most modern and “international” cities in China. Protecting endangered species (including their own population) is not exactly a high priority in the PRC. And they will eat just about any kind of meat and declare it a ‘delicacy’. Can’t see that changing no matter what pressure is brought to bear (pun intended).

Only after Kokomo, IN adopted a sister city in China, someone finally did a little research on Dongyang, Zhejiang, China

Seems that one of their springtime cultural delicacies is “Virgin Eggs”.

Eggs that are boiled and pickled in the urine of pre-pubescent boys, under the age of 10

Amen!! I don't know if their bat/rat/monkey cuisine is the origin of this particular pathogen, but the Chinese need to stop eating that kind of crap. Full stop. In cases other than this one, the whole world has suffered due to the Chinese taste for eating animals unfit for human consumption. Enough already.

I don’t think it came from the market, if it did...we wouldn’t be shut down.
