This isn’t new. After 9/11 there was a lot of whining by military members saying, “What is this? I just joined for the benefits!!”
That post made me laugh.
I remember the “I joined for college”, “I joined for the medical”, and “I joined for the free daycare for my three kids. I am a single parent, you know” crowd.
