However, if you look at the Worldometer site, the number of new cases is either plateauing or dropping with the odd small daily increase. The same thing is also taking place with the death numbers. Both new cases and deaths peaked in mid to late March, but now feature these sorts of trends.

This is how each US state, then city/county should list their coronavirus statistics. I had to cancel a radiation treatment because I cannot find out where in a relatively mid-sized US county, where the casualties, esp. deaths, have occurred.

I was going to a hospital for the treatment but my friend said that it had been jammed with people (lots of illegals) last week. This would be a logical place for those with the virus to spread it to the whole hospital.

Never let Democrats run any thing, even a cesspool cleaning truck.

That’s how I read this story. Seems like there are some hopeful signs, new infections downtrending in some regions of the country.

23 Mar: UK Telegraph: Why have so many coronavirus patients died in Italy?
The country’s high death toll is due to an ageing population, overstretched health system and the way fatalities are reported
By Sarah Newey
But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities.
“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus.

“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, ***only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity - many had two or three,” he says...
