I thought the same thing, but the price of TP has skyrocketed even before the virus. A family of 4 could pay for a "Cadillac" Bidet in a few months. Some are much cheaper, but I probably would go for the one with heated water and costs more. Personally, I had to change to Charmin because of bowel troubles and irritation. Some of the cheaper TP feels like newspaper to me.

I've given serious thought to a Bidet, but getting a plug close enough to the bowel has stumped me. My wife wouldn't put up with an extension cord across the floor.

Simple enough, just staple it to the ceiling and use a white cord to blend with it.

Use only water pressure. Put an extension on the feed to the toilet, with a diverter valve within easy reach; attach the sprayer thingy to the other end of the alternate water feed from the diverter valve.
