Yep - MI is the third worst state in the country. We’re getting absolutely HAMMERED here and our hospitals are in very rough shape. Plus, it’s been estimated we are at least 4-5 weeks from the “apex”.
Article out just this AM that the biggest health system (Beaumont) has over 1,500 nurses and other employees out due to symptoms consistent with CV19. A family member works there and is in a position to know exactly how many, and the “real” number is over 2,000 down.
Normally I wouldn’t bother posting the article, but since we seem to have so many deniers here who think I’m for some reason exaggerating things..
Second biggest system (Henry Ford Health) has more than *700* out, due to CV19.
If we’re in this kind of shape now, I can’t even imagine where we’ll be in 4-5 weeks.
I’m guessing that the many “it’s not so bad - what are you talking about?” posts are from people living in states that are not getting absolutely hammered like we, NY and NJ are..but guess what? EVERY state will get this this hard eventually as the spread continues..
