I have aFib.
My wife became an RN shortly after she turned 21 and before we got married.
She worked a couple of years in a coronary care and 35 years as the lead RN in a family practice group.
When I developed aFib, she was right be side me on when ever I saw a cardio. When their top guy suggested heparin.
She said, “Doctor, now I’m talking the way my husband used to when he came back from a cruise with the Navy!
Basically it was some good Navy talk woven in with good nursing knowledge that I was not to be put on Heparin.
I ended up on Eliquis not Heparin.
The doctor still laughs whenever I see him.
It is a great drug. It does what it is supposed to do without all the testing bs.
are you sure it was heparin, or coumadin?...
