The trees there are smart enough to know when to leave for a safer area.

I like the ‘gag’ about an accident happened and someone pointed out the the truck hit a deer and was told that there is a deer crossing sign there so it was the truck drivers ‘fault’.
Further....
“That particular deer crossing sign is on a curve, why not move the sign 50 yards down the road to the straightaway and the deer will just cross down there”
Wait, what? There are TREES near Chernobyl? The libs said that would never happen and the environment would be damaged for life.
Once saw a European chef comment that he only buys wine from 1985 or earlier. The radiation messed up the grapes afterward. And yes, I was exposed to that cloud as well as Mad Cow Disease. Moo.
Anatoly Sitnikov: You don't.
Dyatlov: Then what the fuck are you talking about?
Sitnikov: I... [clears throat] I walked around the exterior of building 4. I think there's graphite on the ground in the rubble.
Dyatlov: You didn't see graphite.
Sitnikov: I did.
Dyatlov: You didn't. YOU DIDN'T! Because it's NOT THERE!
Nikolai Fomin: What, are you suggesting the core... what? Exploded?
Sitnikov: [almost a whisper] Yes.
Fomin: Sitnikov, you're a nuclear engineer. So am I. So please tell me how an RBMK reactor core explodes. Not a meltdown, an explosion. I'd love to know.
Sitnikov: I can't.
Fomin: Are you stupid?
Sitnikov: No.
Fomin: Then why can't you?
Sitnikov: I... [stammers] I don't see how it could explode. [Fomin looks satisfied] But it did.
Dyatlov: [pounds the table] Enough! I'll go up to the vent block roof. From there, you can look right down into reactor building 4. I'll see it with my own... with my own eyes. [vomits on the table] I apologize. [collapses]
Anatoly Dyatlov, Chernobyl, Miniseries: 1:23:45
If you ever get the chance, search on the internet for the 2015 video "The Babushkas of Chernobyl." It tells the story of a group of elderly women who lived in the surrounding area of Chernobyl, prior to the explosion, and who have returned to the area to live the rest of their lives. It's an awesome program. You may be able to find the full program online.

Yes, but they’re 400’ vampire trees.

Come on, we need a gif of Slick Willy with his lens covers on playing George Patton.
