” will continue to grow in scope until it is successfully challenged”

These is no way to challenge it while it’s happening.
As a practical matter, courts are closed.

And after the fact, “success” will be rare. There’s a long legal history supporting these laws and their enforcement. If anything the legality has been enhance with each new hysteria.

Excellent points, Mariner. Goes to my early contention (which now doesn't appear quite so over-the-top) that without the legislative and judicial components of state governments operating, the executives are running amok with unbridled and unchecked power; that our Constitution, though perhaps not "suspended", is certainly not a consideration with the widely varying dictates at the state level.

(As an aside, as difficult as it is to acknowlege this, I must. Stepping back, I think Gavin Newsome of California is doing a reasonable job of balancing priorities with the restrictions associated with the virus, especially in contrast to the governors in some of the other states (e.g., New York; New Jersey; Michigan; Nevada; Oregon ... no surprise they're all Democrat/Leftists!)

Be well, my FRiend.
