Here’s a sensible question. If the mayor of the most notable metropolis in the country can openly suggest that the government has the right to permanently shutter the doors of a church if it refuses to comply with “social distancing” guidelines, or any other edict the government finds necessary in a given moment, then what can’t the government do?
Just a few weeks ago, the threat of COVID-19 was considered by nearly everyone to be potentially far deadlier than it has yet proven to be. The fatality rates, hospitalization rates, and the predictions of American death tolls (once routinely touted as “over 2 million”) associated with infection were all much higher three weeks ago than they are today. And yet, as the dire projections about the impact of infection has become considerably smaller with new data and improved medical readiness, the social restrictions placed upon the populace have become progressively more obstructive and draconian.
Got that? The better the health outlook has become, the harsher the government’s restrictions on you have also become.
If that isn’t bothersome to you, maybe you should think about the fact that these social restrictions seem to have only become harsher on you. Some Americans are enduring no government obstruction in their lives, and others still are actually enjoying more freedom than they would have before these social obstructions in your lives were introduced.

Entrepreneurial income taxed at 42% combined before you rent you real property from the state at a 2 to 4% mil rate. On top of that a 7% tax on everything you purchase with the income they allow you to keep, only to support insane socialistic policies destructive to a polite way of life. All the while using our own resources to stage a coup on the one person trying to bend trend downward and using every invective they can dream up to diminish his supporters. It’s the fear of death. I really think the media’s scare tactics are working on general citizenry and the local government leaders.
We’ve had a great economy and great way of life since Trump. Right now the full negative effects of shuttering businesses, staying at home and unemployment have not yet been felt.
When people start to wake up, there will likely be a backlash. The question is will this backlash lead to going towards socialism for help or attempting to get our country and way of life back?
I once read something about the fact that, in all of literature, only two free men have ever existed, Adam before the creation of Eve and Robinson Crusoe before Friday showed up. I understood that as a teenager. There is no way for anyone to be free in densely populated areas, it just doesn’t work due to the nature of man. In the recent past it was possible to pretend that freedom existed in this country but only those who refuse to see the truth believed it. I am a few weeks from my 76th and have never been free in reality. I think Ayn Rand explained a lot of things that most Americans refused to believe.
Amen it feels good not to be with the lemmings.
I run a similar thought experiment on people. Ask them to name a single aspect of your life that our government does not claim a right to be involved in. Just one.
They try, but they never can.
Other than being 'free' to pay our taxes, we aren't free in any sense whatsoever. The last month or so has pretty much put to rest the idea that we have any personal agency at all as sovereign individuals.
That's because there aren't any.
And a significant portion of 'freepers' cheer it all on.
