‘I saw the Pennsylvania governor say a week or two ago we might need a lockdown until theres a vaccine.’
you have a citation for that...?
Amen, dammit, Amen!
If New York or LA is such a problem, let them keep their nonsense going.
The vast majority of the country is seeing no such issues.
So many seemingly sane people so willing to give up their freedoms for “2 weeks....er, a month....er... “ who knows how long.
My county has 27 cases and 2 deaths. People are out of jobs, stores and businesses closed, entire lives on pause over nothing and based on what is now being reported as flawed modeling.
ENOUGH!
NY and NJ are in a category all by themselves.
You could have rsv virus, or human meta pneumo virus, or many others that a multi panel viral pcr test might pick up.
Natural wash through and herd immunity will end this long before testing would. Ramping up that many tests is impractical.
Now that President Trump wisely lifted the Federal government deep state controls on testing.
US testing is rising more rapidly than any other nation. We have done more testing than any other nation including Germany.
Our private testing capacity is rising at an incredible rate.
The US is the third largest nation on the earth so per capita is a clever way to diminish the US on most global stats.
Now is the time to strike rhetorically against America because we are crushing it on testing and we are moving rapidly up the per capital rank.
Texas continues to have one of the lowest per capita death rates which is one of the best uses of per capita stats. Tests are allocated based on indications of the virus.
All true, and great news. The bad news is that it is April, and we wasted ~2 months getting geared up. If testing had been ramping up in February, and we were mass testing in March, things would look much better.
I agree but Im going to be clear that the federal government policy monopolizing testing at the CDC did that.
President Trump lifted that and gave us a system that has in two months surpassed the functionality of the very well and better established German testing regimen.
Stopping the spread of covid-19 will take contributions and sacrifices from every single Pennsylvanian, Wolf said. We all need to change the way we live our lives, and well have to do that for a period of time so we can emerge safe and healthy.
The governor said the goal is to give hospitals time to prepare for the surge. And we need time to develop a vaccine.
