The incident is a dramatic outburst of a simmering controversy that has major global ramifications, as China is claiming sovereignty over one of the most important shipping lanes in the world.
Chinese officials denied responsibility for the collision, which took place Thursday.
The Vietnamese boat refused to leave and suddenly veered sharply towards the Chinese vessel, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Friday. Despite its best efforts to keep clear, the Coast Guard vessel was struck at the bow. The Vietnamese fishing boat then took in water and sank.

Red China needs a hard check.
Red China and Vietnam are mortal enemies. The Vietnamese hate the Chinese. China has been trying to rule Vietnam for decades.
“I’d rather smell French s___ for five years, than Chinese s___ for a thousand years.” - Ho Chi Minh
It’s getting difficult-er and difficult-er to like the CCP.
What does this have to with the Wuhan Flu?
How can something get posted that is not directly related to the China Flu?

Sorry but first worlders are kinda occupied. Solve your own problems.

They let the Chinese in to spend their vacation $$$$, but brag about how they keep the Chinese from living or working in Vietnam.
The Chinese however have move into Cambodia and Laos big time.
I was actually going to go to Vietnam to meet my dream gal, but this damn virus came up. So I’m going next year.

This is why relations between the US (and France) with Vietnam will never be all that bad - it needs distant friends to help prevent it from becoming a Chinese province. We have no designs on their territory. Can’t say that for China.

Not only are the Chinese invading Vietnams territorial waters, they are using their leverage in Laos and Cambodia to dam the main rivers flowing to Vietnam, including the Mekong. The situation in the Mekong Delta is severe. The lack of flow is allowing sea water to push into the delta and damage farmland. Another made in China environmental catastrophe.

Worse yet, I think they basically did, 1,000 or so years ago.
Be aware some people have good luck with that, and end up with a VERY loyal spouse, a very good wife, a great friend, and everything is wonderful.
But be aware there are some, who get completely used. Completely.
I think on balance your odds with a Vietnamese girl, tend to be better than an American woman.
But when it goes wrong here, it can go spectacularly wrong. Terrible.
You must be careful.
Where do you plan to live?
Vietnam?
Back home?
Be aware the west can be a shock for a Vietnamese woman. People do not all get along, and she might (very much) miss home, her friend, her family, her language, and her country.
How she feels about those things, may be (very) significant.
There are very good women here.
There are some, less so.
Be careful.
