Hopefully in the near future, they will be able to roll out widespread testing for CV. Then based on the statistics, start opening up areas of the country to normal.

I am surprised that in this national emergency, we have not been able to ramp up and roll easily accessible testing. It feels like testing and medication development is moving so incredibly slowly, with all our technological and scientific capabilities.

The only things working very fast are efforts like the shutdown to cripple the economy.

"I am surprised that in this national emergency, we have not been able to ramp up and roll easily accessible testing. "

But we have! Read the transcripts of the coronavirus "pressers". The rate at which these chemical tests have been developed and implemented is nothing short of astonishing. It is easily the equal of anything done in WWII. (PhD chemist and career in developing methods for chemical testing, so I have a pretty good clue as to what is involved).
