No surprise at all. Until we stop this pandemic, the US should make sure there are enough N or R95, or P100 respirator masks for every person in the US. If we did this, and transmission markedly dropped, we could even start reopening parts of the economy - with the caveat that people had to wear masks. I personally believe this virus mutated (or was ‘designed’) to target respiratory and mucous membrane cells, to persist on surfaces (thus increasing transmissibility), and to avoid immune surveillance/host defenses.
