CMS Chief Verma: ‘We’re Hopeful’ Americans Can Adhere to Guidelines to Be in Better Place by June
Breitbart ^ | 4/2/20 | Trent Baker

Posted on 04/02/2020 1:52:32 PM PDT by david1292

On Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” Verma echoed Vice President Mike Pence’s belief that the United States could see an improvement in the fight against the spread of the virus by early summer. She said the task force is “hopeful” the country will be “in a different place” by June.

“Well, what I’m optimistic about is just watching Americans in everyday life trying to adhere to 30 days to slow the spread,” Verma told host Ed Henry. “That’s what’s going to make the difference here. We want to reduce the number of people that get sick. We want to reduce the strain on the healthcare system. And watching Americans really try to adhere and to do their parts, neighbors helping neighbor, that’s what’s going to make the difference here”

“We have to remember that this is a changing situation. The decisions that we’re making are all data-driven, and that’s why we put that information out there so the American people can see exactly the type of information that the president is using to make those decisions. But we are hopeful that if everybody can adhere to 30 days to slow the spread, adhere to those guidelines, that we could be through this and hopefully by June we’re in a different place,” she added.

Of course not, they are seeing how long it will take to COMPLETELY destroy the US economy and make us all serfs to the government (socialism/Communism).

What is sad is seeing 3/4 of the Freepers are supporting this unmitigated disaster of a shutdown!

I wish we had a like button cause you are making the same case I have been pushing since they instituted this “shutdown”.

pretty much.

POTUS is tough though and can give a nice evening national address and explain why things are opening back up.

People will always be dying of something. MOST people who have COVID19 survive. People nee to get an effing grip.

After over a month of hysterical tantrums from Wu Flu hobbyists we are still at a tiny fraction of fatalities relative to the seasonal flu. Meanwhile, the economy has been nuked and psychological warfare inflicted on 300 million Americans.

The US is too diverse for one nationwide pandemic analysis and “solution” to work well at all.

And the flu, yearly, kills 60,000.

Where are the flooded hospitals? I’m not seeing it.

“By the end of the month Trump will reverse course, whatever the death stats might be.”

I sure hope so. At the very least a regional approach. Dr Doom said today we can’t reboot until there are no new cases Which will NEVER happen. There is no doubt the guy is a rat stooge now. The economy is in ruins and worse every day. A regional approach won’t help me or others under house arrest by rat Governors but some parts of the country could be rescued. It will take courage on Trumps part but he’s the man. That said, I saw on another post that claimed Pence was saying he’s hopeful things will look better in June, not good.

It’s too late to do any curve bending in NYC.

The theory of “flattening of the curve” assumes that everyone
will still eventually be exposed, just not all at the same time.

“Voting by mail will be the next thing.”

This is THE goal now. With Trumps numbers actually going up that is the #1 goal now. They get mail voting and we lose. It will be a tsunami of so many harvested votes Trump could not overcome it even with a 60% rating.

"What we’ve got now is incompetence."

Trying to bend the curve with a total lockdown works on the medical side [except for NYC], but it also extends the burn through period and makes the lock down last longer and longer.

Your solution [already validated elsewhere] is the way to go.

Past time to change course.

DeWine extended our stay at home in Ohio until May 1st. Then his evil doctor Acton mentioned something about being hopeful the bottom of the curve is mid June.

We are finished by May 1st. Sure, the govt might be able to throw some sugar at small businesses and individuals that will provide a minor bridge for a month, month and a half...but what happens after that? The govt cannot create market demand and people aren’t going to suddenly start packing restaraunt, movie theatres, and moving forward with home improvement projects. Instead, they’ll all be hunkered down and scared to death to spend what money they have left. They’ll be spending money to support family members who are in greater economic despair. A trip to Applebees will be considered a high-end dining experience.

We R fcked

Let’s remember it isn’t just rat governors. We need to make these Republican dictator governors pay the price during their primary season as well.

I expect that from him...if he doesn’t he will be in deep doodoo.
I notice that in smaller counties they are not all in...leaving the social distancing to their residents & trying to maintain their economies.

At this point I’d just like to go ahead and get the disease and get it over with - it’s a virus, I’ll be sick in bed for a week, I’ll recover and I can get on with my life without ever having to worry about catching it again. The current regime of constant hand-washing and disinfecting anything that comes from someone else’s hands is ridiculous.

That would mean, since for the last three months we have 5810 deaths, that between now and June? we will have another 87190 deaths.
