President Trump says he is invoking the Defense Production Act (DPA) to clear up supply chain problems encountered in the manufacturing of medical ventilators.
“Today, I have issued an order under the Defense Production Act to more fully ensure that domestic manufacturers can produce ventilators needed to save American lives," Trump said in a statement.

GM can go to hell. We bail them out, they left Impala owners high and dry, (that was the old GM). Then they begin moving their manufacturing offshore. If you want an American made car, you have a better chance buying a Honda, Hyundai or Toyota. Now, GM has to be strong armed into helping fight the pandemic.
I will never buy another GM.
Any bail out should come with a condition of the resignation of all corporate officers and board members. They Failed.

med makers gearing up gathering needed materials as fast as they can ... invoking DPA would only hinder them at this point ...
If CNN reports it, I instantly assume that it must be false.
Train yourselves folks. The amount of time your assumption will be wrong will be outnumbered by the amount of times you are correct.
The article states “for supply chain purposes”.
My guess it’s stuff that goes into making these units that have been provided by China. This makes the retooling and US manufacturing of those components happen toute suite.
