An international poll of more than 6,000 doctors released Thursday found that the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine was the most highly rated treatment for the novel coronavirus.
The survey conducted by Sermo, a global health care polling company, of 6,227 physicians in 30 countries found that 37% of those treating COVID-19 patients rated hydroxychloroquine as the “most effective therapy” from a list of 15 options.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave chloroquine and its next-generation derivative, hydroxychloroquine, emergency-use authorization Monday for treating the novel coronavirus, although the drug was already being used off-label by some doctors and hospitals for COVID-19 patients.
The survey also found that the most commonly prescribed treatments are analgesics (56%), azithromycin (41%) and hydroxychloroquine (33%).

This sounds like a consensus and that the science is settled. Does there need to be any other data or research? All dissenters should be labeled as quinine deniers.

Actually it was Laura Ingraham who deserves all the credit for promoting this drug. She was the first to mention it, she has taken it twice..I think Trump saw her broadcast and saw it as an opportunity to call on more reserarch
I’m sure doctors are using a combination of drugs not just one exclusively.
Often it is hard to tell which one is the most effective so doctors just list what they have tried and administered and found effective and that would account why totals exceed 100%.
What I don’t understand is why the U.S. has the lowest reported usage ( in this survey anyways) of hydroxychloroquinine ?
Do doctors have TDS too ?
Are they also members of “Science for the Resistance” like that democrat donor couple that drank the fish tank cleaner?
No, she wasn’t.
I met people (on other forums) who had been taking an antimalarial regimen on one of the quarantined cruise ships. They were saying that none of the people who were taking hydroxychloroquine as an antimalarial drug contracted the virus long before the press picked it up.
I would give the credit for this avenue of treatment directly on the shoulders of passengers who worked hard to ensure their experience was not ignored.
Not anyone in the press, and not any politician.

Precisely and the earlier the treatment with HDQ/Z-pac, the better the results. An Emergency room physician buddy of mine says the efficacy as a prophylactic is best of all.
FDA has issued emergency approval for treatment of COVID-19, so the EO now allows prescription in NY upon diagnosis.
Not sure how many doctors are issuing diagnosis before test results are returned, so that may be the next Catch-22.
do you have a link to the new EO by cuomo? I hadn’t heard this- I thought his EO banning it’s use off label came after the FDA emergency approval?
