A Holland America cruise ship with sick passengers and its sister ship will be allowed to dock in Florida, sources tell NBC News.
It was expected that the Broward County Commission in Fort Lauderdale would vote on whether to allow the Zaandam and Rotterdam ships to dock, but sources say a deal has been reached and that officials are finalizing details.

This was discussed in Presser yesterday. Trump and DeSantis have discussed. Trump wants them off ship, DeSantis did not for the last week.
However, Trump contacted The countries of origin o the passengers to come and get them and take them home. He stated that the majority of passengers were American and he wanted them treated. Both DeSantis and Trump are working with Local authorities at Port Everglades.

They are from all over the place, so they've got to get off the ship to get flights home.
Because the county owns and runs Port Everglades, and while the Coast Guard Harbormaster can declare a port open or closed, the county calls the shots in waters that are actually not offshore but an improved feature of the local geography.
Maybe because Broward Count controls Port Everglades

After the CG cleared them it was up to BRWD to finalize which it sounds like they are doing.

What is the source for that information? The NBC News article makes no mention of DeSantis or Trump being involved. Just the Broward County Board of Commissioners casting votes amongst themselves.

The last thing that the Enemedia wants is to show the facts, so here is what I was able to determine. On Friday, 27 March, these ships were at the Pacific end of the Panama Canal (PC) entry at Panama City, Panama, in the late afternoon, getting permission to transit the PC. They got expedited transit priority which probably put them in the Caribbean Sea on Saturday Morning, 28 March.
Transit time in various articles states that it takes a minimum of 3 days from Port Colon to Port Everglades at straight line travel, which puts them off the port on Tuesday, 31 March. Yes, Governor DeSantis did deny an initial request to port made over the weekend but it appears now that it was more to get consensus from local, state and Federal officials as to where the best return port would be as that SE Florida 3 county section had already been put on lockdown status the previous week due to a surge in Corona19 cases.
As of now, Thursday, 02 April, these ships are docking at Port Everglades. Many, if not all, of the non-US Passengers, will be transported vis sanitized busses, to chartered flights back to their home countries. Some very sick passengers will go to local hospitals, while some, less-sick passengers will stay on the ships until cleared. ‘Healthy’ Florida residents can return to their residences to follow the new ‘Shelter-at-Home’ regs just made state-wide as of Friday, 03 April. There is not a clear message on what the non-FL US Residents are to do.
So from the Chilean Port refusal to this docking today, it has been about 30 days that I am very glad to have missed!
While I agree about it not being the Plague, 1453 is not the year of the real die-off. Death rates also depended on location, ranging between 30 and 60%.
Following that 'virgin field' epidemic, there were multiple reoccurrences all the way to the mid 1600s. However the Plague bacterium 'Yersinia pestis' has never disappeared and periodically you will hear of someone infected or dying from it, mostly by being where wild rodents are and the humans being where their fleas can bite.
I'm not trying to top your post but just to add some facts. We tend to have forgotten why Pestilence is an attribute of the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse!
