Coast Guard Tells Cruise Ships With COVID-19 Cases To Stay Away From U.S. Ports

The U.S. Coast Guard is telling foreign-flagged cruise ships to be prepared to care for people with COVID-19 for an "indefinite period of time" at sea or to seek help from countries other than the U.S., citing a health care system that is being overwhelmed. The instructions are in a new safety bulletin that took effect this week along the southern Atlantic coast, including Florida – which is reporting more than 6,700 coronavirus cases, as of Tuesday evening.

“Foreign flagged” but wanting the U.S. to treat them as “ours”. Yes, Trump is trying to make a point with the cruise line owners. It’s not as if in normal times they are not very profitable companies.

I’d guess that those cruise ships departed from Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Port Canaveral or Tampa, loaded with mostly US citizen passengers and were returning to their Port of Departure.
Why hasn’t Florida sealed it’s borders to keep out “COVID-19 refugees” fleeing from NY, NJ or Conn?

Why hasn’t Florida sealed it’s borders to keep out “COVID-19 refugees” fleeing from NY, NJ or Conn?
They tried, and created a many mile-long backup at the FL-GA line. Since we are all depending on truckers to bring us stuff that could not be allowed to stand.
