A STOPPED heart cannot be restarted with a defibrillator, contrary to every moronic TV drama.

A FIBRILLATING heart, one that is just vibrating out of sequence, CAN be DE-FIBRILLATED to regain normal rhythm.

Stop spreading this nonsense please. It’s irritating.

You are correct.

Defibrillation is when the heart is beating erratically. So much so that blood can not be pumped through the body.

There are different type of events that happen. The common known one is V-Fib. Ventricles beating so fast they don’t fill with blood to pump it along.

So, we need to stop that, and the way to do it is shocking the patient and stopping the heart completely. Then CPR, and drugs are used to restart the heart. Hopefully.

Defibrillating a cardiac arrest, stopped heart does nothing.

“McD’s and other fast food places have Defibrillators.

They even have picture instruction cards that look just like the menu on the cash register.

Hey sparky, heart stopped?
Want fries with that?
Zaaaapp!”

Can you get it that THIS post was a sarcastic comment?
1)McD’s
2)picture card like the menu
3)want fries with that

You might need to take break, get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Stay safe. Wash your hands.
