Some 50 major American firms have joined the national war on the coronavirus, many volunteering to shift their focus and even assembly lines to deliver needed supplies to doctors, hospitals, first responders and others on the front lines....Most said that they answered President Trump’s call for help and were not pushed into action by the government or threat of the Defense Production Act.

The administration has collected a list of about 35-40 major companies that have enlisted. They range from Facebook to Anheuser-Busch to Ford, Fiat Chrysler, and Toyota. “While by no means comprehensive, these are some notable examples of the private sector stepping up,” said an administration official.

The National Sheriffs’ Association, for example, told Secrets that its members have received tremendous help from Home Depot, Grainger, and Staples, and that a half-dozen national restaurant chains have offered to help.

Their pleas for help have been “enthusiastically welcomed” by some top corporations, said National Sheriffs’ Association Executive Director and CEO Jonathan Thompson. “What they are doing is more than impressive. It’s heartening,” he said.

Good, but where is all that money Governors collect from their state and the feds for things like this over the years??? I mean, why didn't Cuomo have ventilators and more hospitals open in a state/city that went through 9-11????

I think they were busy using it to become a sanctuary state and offer all sorts of public benefits and health care to illegal immigrants.

Or it went to “the arts” or something they thought was really important.

The benevolent have joined Trump's war on the coronavirus.

The malevolent seek to sabotage Trump's war on the coronavirus and make it difficult for him to be victorious.

Guess you’ll have to write the ones you’re concerned about and inquire about that. I’m certain they’d be happy to give you an accounting and all the information you might request in due time in order to calm your concerns.

Early in the war, there is no need to rely on the draft.

The draft is only effective as a threat directed at those who do not have nearly the degree of patriotism as the first responders. It may be their only chance at redemption, to comply with the draft, because as noted elsewhere, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Certainly that’s true. The malevolent are definitely part of the problem—a big part of the problem!

This is exactly how we are going to reopen. Trump is going to use the ongoing National Emergency to tell Ford and the rest of them, it's time to get back to work.

It would be an interesting artifact of history for capitalism to reclaim May Day from the communists.
