Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler traded millions in stocks in the days after a closed Senate briefing on the coronavirus – and dumped holdings in retail stores that have been battered by the pandemic. The wealthy Loeffler, who was appointed to her seat and is married to the president of the New York Stock Exchange, sold $18.7 million in International Stock Exchange, according to information her office shared with the Atlanta Journal Constitution. That is the company that owns the New York Stock Exchange. The trades came Feb. 26 and March 11, as the virus spread but the broader public was still learning about the extent of the danger to both people and the world economy.

Jan 31 - Trump announces China travel ban.
Feb 12 - Virus cases begin to spike in S.Korea
Feb 19 - Iran outbreak begins.
Feb 21 - Italian outbreak begins.
Mar 08 - Italy announces nationwide lockdown.
Mar 11 - WHO declares the outbreak is a pandemic.
This is what should happen but won't. Kelly Loeffler is being offered up as the sacrificial lamb to pacify the unruly mobs of commoners who are upset about Congress having special rules for its members that are not available to the mere subjects of the country.

Why do you think she married the dumpy president of the NY Stock Exchange? The pity is that the GOP governor of GA had no better sense than to point her as Senator.

She gave her portfolio to a professional to manage. She was not calling the sales like some day trader. This professional, paid a commission, saw what was coming and DID HIS JOB.
UNLESS there is DIRECT PROOF she called this professional and specifically asked for these exact sales/trades we need to stop taking the bait from the LEFT.

In Burr’s case, NC law says the dem gov has to appoint a Republican.
In Loeffler’s case, the person who should have been appointed in the first place can be appointed now and run as an incumbent.
That is all.
I think there is a good chance, now, that he will be. After all, he went against Trump to appoint Loeffler. Collins was the most qualified, and deserving, in terms of GOP politics. But Kemp wanted to improve his standing with women voters, after Abrams almost got him in 2018. And Abrams will almost certainly try again in 2022.
I think it is usually wise to pick the most qualified in these cases; but Kemp rolled the dice and may have weakened himself. In late Feb., Collins and Loeffler were pretty even in polling. I haven't seen a poll lately, but is hard to imagine Loeffler hasn't been hurt.

Heard her mention in recent interview explaining her sales that she learned the investment business from the inside. So I expect she was a sales assistant, or secretary, or maybe a broker?

This results in reinforcing the public perception that Congress is corrupt and self serving. Thats what is harmful to society. Everything Congress does in that regard should be transparent and required under penalty of law.
As an engineer with project management background, I’m hardwired to look at worst case scenario. I suggested to several friends in early Jan that reallocation of portfolio to lower risk might be advisable. The potential risk was becoming obvious. A storm was below the horizon and ship was still overloaded with apathy. But Im neither a Senator nor did I get a classified briefing.
That was the time to buy some “insurance” (and hope you didnt need it) and thus have some stuff on hand for family that might be hard to get later.
