An overwhelming majority of Americans (88%) are confident the country will get through the COVID-19 crisis and be OK when its over, according to the newest edition of the Grinnell College National Poll. The poll, a partnership between Grinnell College and nationally renowned pollster J. Ann Selzer of Selzer & Company, was released April 1, 2020.
Additionally, when asked what a reasonable time to stay home without physical contact with people from the outside, nearly seven in 10 respondents say they would do it as long as was asked of them.
My three words on coronavirus are confident, calm, and compliant, said J. Ann Selzer, founder of Selzer & Company. Yes, some people are feeling stressed, angry, and scared a lot of the time, but more say they feel calm a lot of the time, and a huge majority feel confident the nation will get through this and be OK. There is willingness to change behavior for the benefit of the community.

How long do you think it would be reasonable for you to stay home without physical contact with people outside your home?

It’s easy to be brave when you have no or few options.
Oh yes, taking selfies sans makeup is really showing resolve.
The American people always show resolve in times of crisis. The media is doing everything to scare the sh*t out of them to do their globalist masters bidding!
These aren’t the same American People as before.
The other 12% are in FR. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Maybe a legit poll. But Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA, is just another lib/commie ‘higher” education hole.
They had a most honorable commie (sarc), Angie Davis, speak there a few years ago.
What is % of those that responded that are being paid full pay by the state/ gov/ edu to sit home?
What are the % that are Waiters/ Uber drivers/ “non essentials”/ now laid off by the state and have no income?
Wish I could agree with the bottom line of that chart but I can’t. After 30 more days the majority will have had more than their fill with this.
Hope they can flatten out that death curve before then.
Now compare that to your average “conservative” forum that used to brag about how much more tough they are compared to the left, and how they are more like the Americans of the Greatest Generation.
How about just feeling “irritated?”
I have probably had most of the listed emotions from time to time. The overall feeling is reminiscent of my son being in Iraq in 2004 and 2007. Many days on end of stress, minimal contact, and not much in the way of good news.
Ha! I guess it depends on how badly one needs the makeup.....
Been there did that, same as you.
............
Having family in battle was far worse.
............
I remember all the days I didn’t want to go home after work, dreading the sight of government license plates on a car in the driveway.
............
Then, when I deployed, the gloom my family felt.
Thank you
the beatings will continue until moral improves....
Well, here we go. I just got a call from my girlfriend. Shes positive for Corona Virus.
...........
She has had a bad stomach flu last week, no coughing, no temperature, just severe nausea.
..........
She called her doctor last week about being tested, they said not to worry, dont come in. I told her the same thing. She didnt have the symptoms.
............
She went to a mobile test station yesterday because she said that she has never had such nausea.
............
They just called, shes positive. She feels absolutely fine, appetite is back, everything.
..............
She is an essential state employee, the government has insisted she come to work for the last 2 weeks while she has been sick.
.............
She works on a big office, lots of contact. They closed the office this morning. Evidently two other co-workers have tested positive also.
............
God only knows how many have been infected. I am bummed.
OH NO
What horrible news!!! Have you been around her?
Hopefully she is over the worst of it. Please update on how she’s doing. Is she just supposed to stay away for 2 weeks now (will her office reopen?)?
Geez, she told me she thought a couple of co-workers didnt look good.
............
The problem is what to do about essential employees. First responders, health care, emergency management.
..............
When weve had shut down snow storms, the state sent a police car to get her to work. No options.
................
I dont know how to stop it from breaking out through people that are ordered to work.
