HOWEVER... political correctness prevented the CDC from seeing one crucial fact that would/should have made them wake up much, much sooner. If the CCP was admitting to it being x bad, you can be sure it was really at least x times 10 as bad. They failed to follow the basic rule: Don't listen to what I say. Watch what I do. When the CCP quarantines 500,000,000 people, builds hospitals in 2 weeks, completely shuts down their economy for months, that should have told them something that they didn't need accurate numbers to understand.
The IC knew very early that the Chinese number of deaths was much higher than published.
Not sure why that took so long to translate into national policy.
