If you get stopped, tell them you’re looking for a store that has Tylenol and cough medicine.

A vaccine cannot be ‘waited for’. There is a drug prophylaxis which can have folks back to work with a fall back treatment if they come down with symptoms. It is not surprising that Rush doesn’t understand, but why is Snerdly keeping a caller from sharing the data facts with Rush? Come on Snerdley, help your guy!

I think he is telling us to prepare for the soon to arrive Time To Panic.

And do what to panic? Run around screaming? Steal things?

I think what Rush is saying is that we have changed as a nation. And that we as a nation are so risk averse, that essentially no risk is worth ending the shutdown orders.

Governor Cuomo said early on that is the shutdown / quarantine saves even one life, then the shutdown was worth it.
- see https://www.dailywire.com/news/walsh-governor-cuomo-says-dramatic-measures-are-worth-it-to-save-just-one-life-then-why-did-he-legalize-late-term-abortion

Think about that. That is the leader of the state which has the most COVID-19 + cases and deaths, and he is saying he was justified in shutting down the *entire* state economy if it only resulted in saving one life.

I think what Rush is suggesting is that at some point, people may decide to become civilly disobedient in order to provide for their families.

A close friend who works in NY (upstate), told me his company did not even have essential personal report to work. They just have on-site security report. They shut everything else down. The plant is large in size (~500,000 s.f.). There's plenty of work for essential staff to do and the plant is large enough that social distancing could easily be accomplished. But plant ownership didn't even give it a try.

Michigan is pushing out to May, too. Gretchen and the Dept. of Education talked about cancelling schools for the year last week which makes me think that regardless of how the disease was going they planned to extend this as far out as they could.

I neither believe nor trust them, this is about an election they know they would lose. Not that the virus is not real because it is very real. I question the responses of some of the leaders who are not on our side

President Trump just said that if they had done nothing the death total would have been over 2 million.

The best case scenario, following current protocols is 100 to 200K.

But the cost of the flubros plan would have been 2 million dead.

Hopefully the medicines work and masks and sanitizer wipes become available so we can get back to work.

These massive stay at home orders likely are slowing down the rate of spread of the virus, but at a price of huge economic impact. But more importantly the flu/coronavirus season will end with a much smaller percentage of the public having developed antibodies to fight it off next year. One of the reasons why they have to change the flu virus vaccination formula every year is that the types that went around the year before are no longer a threat to the public because so many people have been exposed that they die out before they can infect a lot of people.

I was poking fun at people yesterday who were afraid of the “second wave” next year. But because of the effect of “social distancing” this is an actual threat unless a vaccine is developed over the summer.

Do not be ridiculous! “Panic” for a conservative is calm, measured and INVISIBLE. No one should know we are in a state of hunker down more than usual.

“I think what Rush is saying is that we have changed as a nation. And that we as a nation are so risk averse, that essentially no risk is worth ending the shutdown orders.”

Agree, we are afraid to rock the boat. People are panicked, though, so even doing one thing out of lock step will get a person beat up if in the wrong area of the country. Some Millennials are flipped out.

Do not be ridiculous! “Panic..."

I'm not the one that initially mentioned panic.

My best take on this is similar to chemo. They bombard you with radiation till you are barely alive to kill the cancer. If it works, great you are alive but you sure as hell ain’t roaring back to doing what you did anytime soon.

Same with this “cure”. By the time they are through, we may be “alive”, but most of us will be so broke and tired that we will limp along for months or years to recover.

We need to deal with this virus the exact same way we dealt with the Influenza virus of 2017-18 which was from Oct. 2017 thru May 2018 that resulted in 48.8 million reported cases, 959,134 hospitalizations and 79,416 deaths.........

>3,500,000 people suddenly out of work over the last month. That means cash flow gets throttled on a large scale, and putting them all back to work will take much longer than laying them off. They need food. Rent/mortgage comes due. Parents are juggling kids suddenly “remote learning”. Car payments continue.

There are a lot of people starting to face existential problems.

There are reasons a lot of us are keeping guns handy.

Rush is making the point that eventually the shutdown will kill more people than the virus. If the shutdown bashes our country and the economy bad enough, we will not have the wherewithal to develop and distribute needed medicines, food, fuel, and repair parts. If this shutdown goes on for too long it will not bring the economy down to 1932 levels. It could wreck the economy much worse.

Both the FEARbros and the FLUbros are to blame here — but especially the FEARbros.

They are pathetic, agenda-driven panic mongers, who predict an apocalyptic outcome, then when it doesn’t happen, they just move the goalposts, or they find some other new or obscure study or metric to again predict the arrival of the 10th Plague.

And if you disagree with them, those who disagree are morons, dolts, have their heads in the sand, and so forth.

The FEARbros have engaged in literally the most despicable trolling imaginable on this board, and it is beyond comprehension why people keep feeing these particular trolls.

FEARbros have contributed to the hysteria that threatens to eviscerate the economy of the greatest nation that ever existed (that nation is the United States for you FEARbros imbeciles) along with the magnificent $22 trillion record-setting economy that Donald Trump would have ridden to victory.

Oh and Jim Robinson, if you want to warn me or jettison me because I’ve gone over the top I DONT GIVE A F**K because I am absolutely furious about what is transpiring on FEAR Republic and the U.S. of Pansies, FKA the United States of America.

The first GOP Governor to say “ENOUGH!!!” will find himself in the driver’s seat for the 2024 nomination.
