That's how the SF Chronicle got this letter. They SHOULD NOT have it, nor publish it. An entire Carrier Group is at risk for the operational details alone.

The Carrier group is not docked with the Roosevelt, but MUST be in proximity/protection of the carrier, with it no matter where it is (AEGIS shield,conventional naval guns, and more, and missile firepower). Are flight operations no longer possible while publicly docked in Guam? Air cover 24/7? This captain has put the entire group in vulnerability. Though in some ways, he has put his career behind the lives of his sailors-- so there is that.

There is also a couple of subs with the group. AO’s, destroyers, frigates, and in my day, cruisers, too. It’s never just “the carrier” - it’s a HUGE group.
