The job of a judge is to rule on individual cases, not proclaim laws or establish policy. When is someone going to put their foot down and say that judges don’t have absolute power?

A well placed “the” or “a” in the title would have made the crux of the article more clear. I read the headline as a Texas Appeals Judge had made these pronouncements, not that Texas had appealed the lower court judge’s order.
