Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who was sued by gun-rights groups after trying to shut down firearms dealers in the wake of coronavirus concerns, is abandoning the effort.

The sheriff said Monday he's heeding a federal Department of Homeland Security advisory issued on Saturday that listed gun and ammunition dealers as “essential critical infrastructure workers."

Villanueva called the non-binding memo “persuasive" and announced that his department won't order or recommend closing businesses that sell or repair firearms or sell ammunition in the nation's most populous county.

There is going to be a LOT of litigation over numerous “orders” that have been given by government.

Sheriff a few days ago =>

“I’m a supporter of the 2nd amendment, I’m a gun owner myself, but now you have the mixture of people that are not formerly gun owners and you have a lot more people at home and anytime you introduce a firearm in a home, from what I understand from CDC studies, it increases fourfold the chance that someone is gonna get shot.”

_____

I’m a supporter of the Second Amendment BUT...

Don’t feel bad Sheriff. Just release a few dozen more felons and you’ll feel all warm inside.

The great thing about the 2nd amendment is that rogue government officials never need to be “persuaded” about when it’s in effect and I don’t have to give a f*ck about what you think I need and when.

Plenty of people buy chainsaws and lawnmowers and cars every day that aren’t previous owners and have little or no training. Dangerous consequences sometimes occur with them but he doesn’t seem to be too concerned about stopping those sales.

FWIW, I heard in the car that the County Board of Supervisors unanimously stripped him of control over the CV19 emergency operations and gave it to the county health department.

They didn’t say why on the radio. I wonder if this is related. This article claims other reasons but one hell of a coincidence.

Blah Blah Blah. We still have a 10 day waiting period. Nobody is “suddenly” going to obtain a gun for the first time.

Pancho Villa Nueva is a gun grabbing turd.

I’m glad he got his jack booted a$$ sued and was forced to back down.

If he had a shred of decency and honor he would resign.
