Up the page is a thread stating why the CDC is looking at recommending face masks. WTH?

We all catch a cold now and then. With the runny nose and sneezing, the mask isn’t protecting you, it protects others FROM you. Many people today seem have CV but have no symptoms. I think you wearing a mask protects me. Since it doesn’t hurt anything, why not use it until people get this thing figured out?

“Oh I see....germs can’t get out of the mask but can only come through”

Bonemaker,

The only foolproof way would be to be breathing air from a closed-loop breathing system.

Can you assure, with a flimsy, paper face mask that as one breathes, no outside air would not penetrate the sides of the mask? No, you cannot!

My point was that no one should consider that a face mask would be foolproof and would protect against all possibilities.

Also, if you decide to respond then please tone down the sarcasm. It only makes you look like a sarcastic, smart ass! ;-)

I am...

Seriously, unless the mask is absolutley air tight and the pores are smaller than the virus then there is going to be a two way flow of stuff. But it seems odd doesn't it that everyone in the medical field is screaming for an endless supply of them.

They are occasionally available, at higher prices than normal (but not stupid-high) on Amazon. Don’t forget to buy the replacement filters.

“I am...”

And loving it?

So, you are admitting that you suffer from arrested-development in your teenage years? You do sound like a defiant, fifteen-year-old. I find that sad.

When you post something as an adult I’ll respond to you. Otherwise, no.

It would look great with my motorcycle helmet. It's a half-helment so would work. Been thinking of getting some steampunk gear just for the heck of it.

Actually son, I am a 13 year old trapped in a 79 year old body. Will have 80 clicks in June! Hope you can arrange for a sense of humor and be able to recognize irony before long. Godspeed.😎

Bad news. Amazon locked down ALL sales of masks, respirators, and related filters from civilian purchase.

Almost like they don’t give a **** if the common man dies.

Ebay is still good from what I understand.

The core of the anti-mask message is a lie. They work damn well. And people will justify that lie by saying they were concerned about shortages and hoarding and theft from hospitals and blah, blah, blah, but the problem is that no one will believe a word they are saying in the future. Honesty was the best option here.

I have a wonderful sense of humor. I simply detest smart asses who only THINK that they are being ‘cute’ when they are really being childish pains-in-the-ass!

Of course not. No one ever gives a damn if a slave or serf dies.

"I have a wonderful sense of humor"

Great! But apparently not the same as mine.

So do I...at least we share that. I just respond to smart assery in kind.

Oh? Are you still here?

When you did not respond last night I was thinking that your Medicare nurse had to change your “Depend” diaper then wheel you into your home ICU and put you into your hospital bed.

Senility is a curse, isn’t it?.

“Great! But apparently not the same as mine.”

Not at all. A serious topic was being discussed and you came with your smart-ass comment. I rest my case.

“Think a little bit before you write.”

You do know that Covid-19 is a SARS corona virus, don’t you? It is contagious up to two weeks before symptoms and one third of infected people never develop symptoms. But if you want to put your mucus membranes out in the air, unprotected, along with everyone else’s go right ahead.

Your comment doesn’t really make any sense directed at me. But whatever..

The original comment basically implied that we, the average person, have as great a need for masks as medical personnel and that is just asinine.
