WASHINGTON In late November 2018, just over a year before the first coronavirus case was identified in Wuhan, China, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at Detroit Metro Airport stopped a Chinese biologist with three vials labeled Antibodies in his luggage.
The biologist told the agents that a colleague in China had asked him to deliver the vials to a researcher at a U.S. institute. After examining the vials, however, customs agents came to an alarming conclusion.
Inspection of the writing on the vials and the stated recipient led inspection personnel to believe the materials contained within the vials may be viable Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) materials, says an unclassified FBI tactical intelligence report obtained by Yahoo News.
The report, written by the Chemical and Biological Intelligence Unit of the FBIs Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate (WMDD), does not give the name of the Chinese scientist carrying the suspected SARS and MERS samples, or the intended recipient in the U.S. But the FBI concluded that the incident, and two other cases cited in the report, were part of an alarming pattern.

Yahoo is really late to the game.

Yes- the real news is that this showed up on Yahoo.
All this stuff from China may be hitting Yahoo’s bottom line negatively. At some point, survival takes priority over selective reporting.
Wondered when someone would finally notice all the arrests the past few years of Chinese scientists professors etc. Kind of a shock to see anything on yahoo
I don’t think they all were arrested. The vials are confiscated, and the scientists go on to their destination.
> Protection agents at Detroit Metro Airport stopped a Chinese biologist... <
What the heck is wrong with racist Yahoo? Dont they know youre not supposed to mention Chinese in these kind of stories?
Better:
Protection agents at Detroit Metro Airport stopped some guy from somewhere who was a biologist.
Yet another China bio spy?
I’ve suspected that sort of thing has been going on for a long time. The foreign animosity boils up in overseas official comments once in a while, and the intentions exist for a crime that would be nearly impossible to always detect. Economic decoupling would be the beginning of a real defense.
So they couldn’t bring in in vials so they infected their people and let it spread.
Somehow there are some that believe china cares about there people, THEY DONT, they are expendable, cull the herd get rid of dissidents, give people something to worry about “their lives” instead of focusing on government.
Stop it now you guys, you know darned well the wet market is ground zero for the virus. /s
This whole thing feels like a rehearsal. It’s as if we know that the Chinese can do this to us anytime they want, so we better figure out how to deal with it.
I would say that his cell phone was tagged and all his subsequent contacts monitored
If the Fibb B I can do it to a President.
Solution:
14 day quarantine for anyone traveling from abroad. At their expense.
