Pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson is partnering with the U.S. government to produce up to 1 billion doses of a coronavirus vaccine for use around the world by the end of next year.

Asked on NBC’s “Today” on Monday how quickly the first vaccines could be available, CEO Alex Gorsky replied, “This is like a moonshot for us.”

“What would usually take five to seven years, we expect to be able to accomplish in five to seven months,” he said.

You assume they will have a choice.

It is possible to create a vaccine within hours - just kill the pathogen, and then inject it.

How safe, and how effective that might be, will vary from case to case. That is why approval requires deliberate testing and proof.

If there is a problem, they will try to tweak it somehow (like using a different method to kill it, using a weakened live virus instead of a dead one, or just using a piece of the virus). Testing is what takes the time.

There is also IV-vitamin C in the mix, even better than chloroquine since it is so cheap and free of serious side effects, but perhaps used in combo for some people.

Absolutely zero need for a vaccine. It is looking more and more to me that part of the plan here was to push the vaxx. I know lots of people here are not Ron Paul fans, but on today’s podcast, Dr Paul mentioned many of the very same points that you did. And Dr Paul seems to be quite supportive of President Trump in several areas, who (as he said) has “good instincts” on many things.

We can also cure cancer by killing the cancer patient.

It just seems a little too suspicious that a Gates funded pharmco is getting govt partnered (coming maybe from Fauci?) to go after untested vaccines when in reality the alternative already proven safe treatments are showing amazing results so much so that the FDA has just yesterday greenlighted them for emergency treatment of coronavirus prophylaxis, and disease; and India followed suit with the same policy today.

We note Sodium Ascorbate is the salt form of Vit C and is orders of magnitude better absorbed. It can be bought in health food stores.

Are you kidding me?   I would much rather get a vaccination than roll the dice on whether I survive this Chinese trade war flu or not.   At my age and with my risk factors I don't even want to get a cold.

I have had the seasonal flu shot most years back to my first one in the USAF in 1976.   I was not given a choice then.   We had a Commander's Call and when we filed out of the small theater in the Comm Group building everyone male and female shucked our utility shirts down to t-shirts and got the shot.   I went back to duty at the shop.   I didn't get the flu either.
