Yep...many of us were prepared, well in advance, as we knew what was coming our way...from what we studied/posted and read about, on those early threads.

We were mocked by a few, but guess what....we were right....and, we have plenty of TP :)

Thanks for doing this! It’ll be most helpful in the upcoming election battle.

Mayor de Blasio, Speaker Johnson and Queens Chamber of Commerce Encourage New Yorkers to Visit Asian-American Owned Small Businesses

NEW YORK—Mayor Bill de Blasio, Speaker Corey Johnson, the Queens Chamber of Commerce, the Flushing Chinese Business Association, Administration officials and community leaders joined together today to declare Flushing, Queens open for business. Together, they encouraged New Yorkers to visit an Asian-American owned small business in their neighborhood.

“In hard times, New Yorkers know to stand by their neighbors,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “We’re in Flushing today to embrace Asian-American owned small businesses and say to all New Yorkers: New York City’s Chinatowns are open for business!”

“It is important to support the Chinese community in New York City. Unfortunately many businesses and restaurants in Chinatown, Flushing and Sunset Park are suffering because some customers are afraid of the coronavirus. But those fears are not based on facts and science. The risk of infection to New Yorkers is low. There is no need to avoid public spaces. I urge everyone to dine and shop as usual,” said Speaker Corey Johnson.

Check with Nully. He was posting stories around January 1 when it first appeared as a mysterious and then-unknown virus in China. I asked him a week ago (or so) about his first story posted and he found it.

There it is.

Hard to believe these folks (DeBlab, Corey Johsnon, et al) haven’t been driven out of that city on a rail.

A oneway subway rail....to the sea.

For those of you who point out that I missed a lot of stories, my purpose was to concentrate on the origins of the political response to the coronavirus pandemic, which started at about the time that the WHO declared a "global heath emergency;" this was on 30 January of 2020.

There were just too many stories to post them all the way back to the first mentions, which I know were in early January. In the three weeks or so between the first stories and President Trump's travel ban, the story was not political at all, mainly because the Monica Media was completely absorbed in pushing the Democrat Party's farcical "impeachment" narrative, complete with the antics of Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and Nancy Pelosi, and also because the story seemed far away on the other side of the world and because reputable medical people were saying it was just another strain of influenza.

A more comprehensive list would include literally thousands of stories. I posted this because I was personally curious about the political and media environment at the beginning of the American response to the pandemic.

Thank you. This has happened so quickly and things change by the hour now, I’ve wished I had done this. Thank you for doing it for me!

I hope I have enough TP

I really do not know what being “right” means, and I am quite convinced that no one knows what is actually going on because the data, at best, is very inconsistent due to different places keeping records differently, and likely, in many cases, is being suppressed or essentially made up to control public reactions.

After talking with Mom today, I plan on ordering more dried beans while the ordering is good—and at her advice I’m going to splurge and spend a few bucks extra for Navy, to add some variety to the kidney and pinto, though if we get to the point of having to rely primarily on this and rice, any one who complains about a lack of variety will be told to Shut the Francis Up.

The euphoria of the fantastic economy and then the downward spiral due to the virus makes me want to cry.

I feel so bad for everyone

==

Agree.

My heart especially goes out to President Trump.

So many great things were happening for this nation, that hadn’t happened in decades...or, ever. All due to his policies.

I think...and pray...that it will all come back, stronger than ever.

And, I’m so thankful that he is our CIC.

We’ll all think back on this time like another 9/11 or wartime. Because, it is :(

Just want to add these here. I bookmark every thread I open into a folder.

You were right. I too had plenty of TP and all else, but I was entirely too busy to keep up here, and elsewhere, with what was really happening.

Hope we can be friends despite my prior words.

That is fascinating, how and that you keep your daily folders.

Is there a particular program or system you use?
