At least in flyover country, is the cure worse than the disease?

See what happens when people don’t live right on fricking top of each other?

Same thing in Austin hospitals. My son’s worried about getting enough hours to make a check.

Well, why not destroy the hospital system as long as we’re destroying everything else over this? The irony here, of course, is that the imbeciles who are pushing and supporting all of the ridiculous overreaction to COVID-19, in their zeal to avoid “overehelming” the medical system, are actually going to cause a shortage of hospital beds and o her medical services.

Behold, Idiocracy in action...

Sounds like they did a good job preparing for the upcoming onslaught. Good management there.

One of the interesting things about our republic, is how different, regions can be.

Perhaps this current time in history should illustrate that what works in WVA, and what works in the city of New York, can and should be different measures.

Why do they not send non-CV patients from new york to these hospitals? It’s a win-win.

One size does not fit all for 50 states as different from each other as we are.

Ok, so how much money in the next bailout package for hospitals affected by the plandemic, because it REDUCED their number of patients?

The governor of WV should get in touch with the Surgeon General and see if they can't perform elective surgeries as an exception (given that they are not occupied with COVID-19 problems).

There's no reason a blanket rule should apply to the entire country unless it is truly required.

Why cancel elective surgeries if there wasn’t a crisis yet in WV?

More damn hysteria and FR now is wall to wall full of these fear mongers! Sad to see a site I have been on for 20 years go downhill so fast!

My daughter works for a company that processes medical claims. Their business is way down. No elective surgeries and visits for things like ortho and well checkups are way down. They may have to lay off some people.

Depends on which state in flyover country. West Virginia has fewer cases than most so far.

Cannot believe there is not a better way to balance the high Covid case states and those without.

My BIL had to be rushed to the hospital several hours ago. They are not letting anyone in the ER except the patient. My SIL is sitting in the parking lot in her car and the ER people call her on the cell phone periodically. She took him to urgent care and they suspect sepsis so called the ambulance to take him to the ER. She says there is hardly anybody at the ER but they have tents set up outside for covid 19 but nobody around. So much for the huge epidemic.

I visited several local emergency rooms today. In Houston. All empty. There were many more people (in scrubs) outside sitting in chairs under tents than anywhere else. They all chatted with me and told me that nothing is happening.

“Beds empty, revenues slowed at hospitals in West Virginia; CAMC announces hours reduction measures”

hospitals in Colorado are literally empty as they canceled all elective procedures in anticipation of a massive surge of sick and dying that never came ...

Hey, here’s an idea. 250$ for a Tylenol and 125.00$ for an aspirin.
