On the last Sunday in March a year ago, The Washington Post Magazine published a goopy cover story titled "Pelosi's Moment." On the last Sunday in March this year, The Post published an "Opinion Essay" in the A section that went on for three pages (with eight photographs) celebrating Pelosi as "A troublemaker with a gavel."
Reporter-turned-columnist Karen Tumulty wrote what sounded like a very long, saccharine Hallmark greeting card for Pelosi's 80th birthday.
She has been the target of thousands of Republican campaign ads, though that assault failed spectacularly in 2018, when Democrats swept the midterm elections and regained control of the House. More than a few in Pelosis own caucus had their doubts when she announced that she wanted her old job back. There were voices, on both the left and the right of the party, who said Pelosis time had passed.
But her second act has been, by some measures, even more impressive than her first. Pelosis discipline and maturity, her refusal to be intimidated by Trumps bluster, have energized the Democratic base and kept a volatile and impulsive president off balance.
A conservative counterpoint rarely emerged, unless it was to make Pelosi look better. Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon was quoted calling her a "total assassin," which led to more praise:
A woman about to enter her ninth decade has become a warrior-heroine to the social-media generation. It seems that her every gesture toward Trump conveys a message of contempt. When he gave his 2019 State of the Union address, she offered stiff-armed, mocking applause. Right after he delivered it this year, she gracelessly ripped up her copy of what she called a manifesto of mistruths.

Just wondering...
A conservative counterpoint rarely emerged, unless it was to make Pelosi look better.
There will be a reckoning in November. And hopefully Pelosi and her minions will be electorally banished. Oh, she's safe in her district, but a lot of her party members in Congress are not in such secure positions.
BotoxIdiot will be running for POTUS when? /s
Phuk the witch.
I thought at least late 70’s...smh, she just is not aging well...lol
Yes, and no truth in the news, and no news in the truth.
Our Proggie Press is suffering some serious cognitive dissonance now.
Reality is crashing into their VR bubbles, and they’re cracking badly.
I like buttery parmesan garlic popcorn the best!
KAREN TUMULTY
No brunch for me. Thanks a lot!
She is HOT, omg I must have that!
She's waiting for your call.
The article should have said “Nancy Pelosi will always be remembered for putting partisan politics ahead of the needs of the American people during a time of crisis.
Her steadfast refusal to pass a bill intent on rescuing people both medically and financially without including totally unrelated funding for windmills, solar energy projects, abortion and Kennedy Center funding will never be forgotten.”
The Washington Post would say that if they wanted to tell the truth.
Come on, man. People are trying to eat lunch here....
Should be Warrior Heroine Comrade Plousy
OMG this is my future wife./
