Delta Air Lines and JetBlue have stepped up during the coronavirus pandemic by offering free flights for medical professionals to travel where they’re needed most amid the COVID-19 crisis.

In recent days, both carriers have proposed the pitch to eligible medical professionals in the national fight against the viral disease. Delta is coordinating round-trip flights, free of charge, for qualified personnel to travel to Georgia, Louisiana and Michigan, while JetBlue is sending healthcare workers and desperately needed supplies to “places where they are needed most.”

In coordination with local and state governments, Delta is flying out eligible medical volunteers to Georgia, Louisiana and Michigan to help out in areas "hardest hit" by the virus. Looking ahead, the carrier will consider expanding the effort to other states that have been significantly impacted by the outbreak, like New York, California and Washington.

“We are witnessing the heroic efforts of our medical professionals around the world as they combat COVID-19, and we have deep gratitude for their selfless sacrifice,” Bill Lentsch, Delta’s Chief Customer Experience Officer,

This is great news, other corporations need to step up and help the situation....

For example, instead of another stimulus check from the government....we need the major banks who are getting trillions in help from the Federal Reserve to step up and in unison offer rent and mortgage help.

Let’s say, start with a 90-day grace period for rent and mortgage payments and tack on months at the end of the lease or mortgage....

They’re countless examples of things that could be done to help the people....especially from companies getting trillions in support...

Banks are already helping.....as well with small busineses.... Listen to Munchin at the briefings where he often details it...as has other Banking Ceos.

True, but IMO, we need the CEO’s of the major banks to show up at the daily Trump briefing and say a few short words to try and calm people down...

I think it’s helpful, yesterday we had the CEO’s UPS and some medical supply companies get up one by one and just say what they were doing and tell everyone they will do everything in their power to help out....

Are they booking the round trip, or just waiting to see what shakes out?

Are they booking the round trip, or just waiting to see what shakes out?

From the article: Delta is coordinating round-trip flights, free of charge, for qualified personnel...

Question is, will the communities that were lucky enough to miss the virus and actually have extra health care providers to loan, want them to come back?

Can you feel the undercurrent of paranoia, Xenophobia, and distrust among so-far uninfected communities? Have you seen local officials seizing power and limiting people's rights, especially those suspected of infection? How far away are we from having armed barbwire roadblocks around every locality?
