I was curious and looked up ‘moral peacocking,’ and found it in the Urban Dictionary!
Awesome! That’s my new word/phrase for the day!
Phrase was developed by Scott Adams of Dilbert fame. “I’m showing off how moral I am, I’m so much better than you!”
A related issue is what the New York Times calls “luxury beliefs”. A rich white liberal who is married and would never let her child have a bastard argues that you don’t need marriage and family to raise kids right.
