Well, I looked up their Wikipedia pages. Yamiche was born in Florida to Haitian immigrant parents in the 1980s. Lew Alcindor (better known by his Muslim name) was born in NYC in 1947. So probably no connection—I don’t know if Kareem has Haitian ancestry.
