President Trump on Sunday issued a major disaster declaration for Washington, D.C., as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in the city and the country.
The declaration allows the city to access federal funds to help D.C.’s efforts in combating the coronavirus.
The president’s declaration for D.C. marks the 22nd territory that has received a major disaster declaration and federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Nineteen states, Puerto Rico and Guam have received the other designations.
The funding will be available to the city government and certain private nonprofit organizations for "emergency protective measures."
The declaration follows city officials' concerns that the nation's capital did not receive adequate attention in the most recent stimulus package that was passed by Trump last week.

Beat me to it, but it’s good to say it, repeat it, engrave it, and put it on the tombstone of every wreched and vile Democrat (and most Repulsicans) that we can find.

Disaster declarations mean they get more federal money through FEMA. The president has now declared 17 states, D.C. and two territories to be coronavirus disaster areas:
Massachusetts, Michigan, South Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Colorado, Iowa, California, Washington and New York. And the two territories are Guam and Puerto Rico.
Re “DC’s been a disaster for years”. Try for decades since the 70’s when the Marxists and braindead Democrats took over “Home Rule” (Except Mayor Washington who was an honorable man).
Then came Mayor for Life/Crackhead “Marion Barry” and his hord of crooks, commies, kooks, and asskissers. A couple of us tried to put him in jail back in the 70’s for some illegal youth activities. He escaped going to jail for the OIC organization rip-off of the taxpayers (his wife went to jail, later his Deputy Mayor, a red, for economic thief).
Barry also beat his second wife Effie. Got this from a friend of Effie who visited her in a hospital in Baltimore. They had to get her out of DC where news of her being in a hospital would have raised too many questions as to why she was there (the bruises would have one heck of story to tell).
Crackhead, adulterer, whoremonger, thief, racist. That was our boy Marion and his bunch of asskissing toadies.
DC is still a Democrat Party cesspool of corruption, greed, and powermongering.
