hio Gov. Mike DeWine on Sunday said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration was reckless for sharply limiting the number of protective masks Columbus-based research firm Battelle can sterilize using a process it developed. It was a sharp rebuke from a Republican governor who until now has refrained from criticizing the Trump administrations handling of the COVID-19 outbreak.
DeWine talked to Trump later in the morning and said the president was willing to help.
I have just talked with @realDonaldTrump about this issue, and we had a good conversation. He understands the problem and says he will do everything he can to get this approved today. Thank you, @POTUS, DeWine tweeted
“We can’t help Trump be effective.”
We’ve got health care workers wearing trash bags and motorcycle helmets and these bureaucrats want 3 years of testing before they approve a sterilization process. Hey maybe the process is not perfect, but these are emergency times. I’m sure they at least tested it against CV19. Let loose the ingenuity of Americans!
Foot to ass Mr. President, foot to ass of the bureaucrats at the FDA.

I don’t think the bureaucrats fear Trump. He really hasn’t kicked much ass since being elected.
Respect is instilled by demonstrating who is in command and backing it up with the raw exercise of power. I’ve seen it, and the consequences of not doing it, many times in my career.
FDA, Democrat Party, Deep State, Traitors, all sameo, sameo.

Yep, Swamp dwellers all. They have turned our country into a kleptocracy.
The feral gubmint bureaucracy has gone beyond the call of duty, beyond the law and beyond the constitution to avoid being considered part of the Trump administration. This isn't a rebuke of Trump. This is the deepstate trying to preserve it's power and prerogatives.
What a surprise. One of a legion of alphabet federal agencies that work counter to the good of the common man. No wonder that these organizations are only just above the Lame Stream Media in reliability.
Foot dragging on cures and face masks... Dr Fauxi working with Big Pharma.

This has to be happening. But the FDA drones seem to require the direct attention of the President for every single item. That’s impossible to sustain. I hope the Prez finds some dedicated ass-kickers on staff who can keep pushing. One man can only do so much...
For those on twitter, how about a hashtag to report anyone or any org dragging their feet?
#SlowingTheResponse
.
Yeah, and we have pathetic, gutless snowflakes here who insist on trials lasting until the end of the next century.
Just do a EO .
Any drugs okayed by EU , Brits, Japan , Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, and S Korea are ok to use .
Stop the Dr Screw Trump and his pals at big pharma games here
I have no doubt that STILL most of our alphabet agencies and every crevice of FedGuv is full of Bushies,Clintonites,Obamaites,Trump haters and simply various Swamp creatures.
From I have seen, it appears that Trump's team is all on the same page, and being hamstrung by the old guard that is still infecting all the government agencies and doing everything they can to hurt the president, take away our freedoms, and hurt the American people any way they can.
I understand perfectly the scientific need for controlled and randomized trials to prove to a degree of confidence the efficacy of a drug or a device.
But when you force people in need from making their own informed decisions solely for the sake of achieving that objective you are inhumane. What is the practical difference between keeping people from promising new therapies and snatching people for experimentation? In either instance you are denying them free will and causing suffering.
Of course, many drugs will fail to work or cause side effects. But as long as the drug maker fully discloses everything they know; and that real-world results are publicly available - let the people decide. There is a small role for the FDA, but really it should function more like the Underwriters Laboratories - they can analyze clinical trials and give their “seal of approval” (which even under today’s rules doesn’t necessarily mean much) but shouldn’t be able to prevent people from accessing them, in consultation with physicians and experts and all the known information.
Look at how the drug cocktail they are using against CV19 is getting pushback. These are old, generic, cheap and fairly safe drugs. And the cocktail seems to work fairly well - statistically the odds of success seen to date from this combination being a “random fluke” are astronomically low. But the FDA and even some governors are or were actively trying to subvert it and deny access. It’s crazy. And I can think of other drugs out there that are imo improperly used as 2nd line therapies because the cost in money and time to get approval is so high the drug companies run trials on the sickest of people or relapsed people in order to show just a marginal improvement, when there is plenty of evidence showing that if given earlier in the disease cycle it would be much more effective. But, it would take much longer and cost hundreds of millions or even billions more to “prove”. As a result, people are denied access (or, denied health insurance coverage) to even to these approved drugs because they are labeled too narrowly.
yup.
That is an excellent description of what the FDA needs to be scaled back to. They have shown over the decades they cost far more than they are worth with the unconstitutional power they have been given. They aren’t ‘pro-choice’ for citizens making their own informed decisions.
Many government “workers” are some combination of loser, wastrel, political plant, aggrieved oaf, slacker or TDS mega-suffer. Firing half of them tomorrow would be a good thing.
