PRESIDENT Donald Trump pulled back from a plan to quarantine New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Saturday, hours after NY Governor Andrew Cuomo blasted the plan as "illegal" and a "declaration of war."
Cuomo told CNN on Saturday: "If you start walling off areas all across the country it would just be totally bizarre, counter-productive, anti-American, anti-social."

Was the story about the governor of Rhode Island hunting escaping New Yorkers debunked, or is it true?
I think the POTUS punked him and he took the bait pretty good.
Let’s just wait and see what happens now.
When Cuomo starts complaining that Trump isn’t doing enough (quarantines) on a Federal level he can shove this in his face.
President Trump is trolling him. Wasn’t it just a couple of days ago mini-Mario was “demanding” President Trump put the entire country on lockdown?
It’s probably more of a case of closing the barn door after the cows have left. Millions have already left New York. Who knows how many are taking the virus with them to wherever they roam?
And it wouldn’t really be just New Yorkers. Outbreaks in every major city already, not all of them related to NY. Though I do know a person 1000s of miles from New York who is infected, her husband was traveling through NY City 3-4 weeks ago for work.
Yesterday someone moved out of our building.
I helped taking stuff out of the elevator and wished them the best.

It’s only a question of the local burn through rate.
Would that be before or after he was telling everyone to relax and go out and enjoy the city, or when he was talking about relaxing the shelter in place policy because the economic consequences of shelter in place has been devastating to sales and excise tax revenues, and will be to income tax revenues?

I really fear we’re in this for a long haul now. We’re not going to see a lot of shuttered businesses reopening anytime soon; or getting back to November 2019 top line revenues. I am giving 2:1 odds that Congress will need yet another economic bail out bill to fix the problems with the one they just passed. It simply won’t help any small business owner - they are not going to get in line to borrow money from the SBA to rehire employees that have little to no work to do. And even if they did, the SBA and banks can’t handle the paperwork it will take years to process all those applications. All the banks out here have doors locked and allow only 3 people in at a time.
DUH!
Biden is “sheltering in place” because he cannot afford to keep looking like a fool. He hopes people will forget he (and Bernie and others) fled to their farm acreage for the duration. Meanwhile Trump is up early every day and waging multiple wars at the same time.
Privately, many Dems are thinking Biden is just a placeholder and that at the convention they will bring out a substitute nominee.
That is clearly the question. My thought is that 100x+ more testing will sort out recovered from infected from vulnerable. Only then can we all move swiftly back to more normal economic interactions.
Right now they are putting their hopes in Cuomo. However, he will not survive the disaster that is NY. Too much exposure to and association of failure.
