Through the garbled word soup of fancy buzzwords and bureaucratic newspeak, officials in Washington state are basically saying they are preparing to ration health services, with those whom the state seems as less desirable to receive less attention and care. In the age of whats pretty much Bernie Sanderss wet dream of socialized healthcare, there simply arent enough resources to care for everyone.
Washington state and hospital officials have been meeting to consider what once was almost unthinkable how to decide who lives and dies if, as feared, the coronavirus pandemic overwhelms the states health care system.
We dont want to do it. We dont think we should have to do it, said Cassie Sauer, chief executive of the Washington State Hospital Association, which along with state and local health officials has been involved in refining what Sauer called a crisis standard of care essentially guidelines to health care officials on who should receive treatment and who should be left to die.

Nope.
but because we are not a free people, and we don't have a free press and we don't even have local talk radio anymore, the elites and the govt people can get away with this....
So this can be blamed on Trump.
No, they won't. Even if they end up having to watch their parents die, it won't deter them from their path of stupid.
They don’t want babies to get out of the womb. That’s not caring. Is their ewuality in their de ial of life? We have one God.
Not really a great argument since this is what they’re considering under the current system. Not really much difference is there?
Hmm. Aren’t there 30,000 ventilators sitting in a warehouse in Noo Yawk?
So buy a few thousand. Set up in a Boeing hangar, they gotta have free space by now since they shut down production.
See morons? Problem solved. Free enterprise.
That’s a start, maybe they need some Nat Guard and/or regular military docs and nurses to staff it up.
The problem is less the # of infected and more the size of Washington. Their #’s rival Florida and Florida has a LOT more people.
Lib Gov admits thy are NOT overwhelmed but wants to be prepared. I guess talking about having a death panel is a Democrat thing.
This isn’t about Sanders, per se, but about a potential overwhelming of the hospital system. I think the story is a sensationalist and GP is doing the story no favors either....Yes...during a sudden influx of patients, a hospital may be forced to choose who to treat first...who will benefit from such treatment. Horrible to think about, but nonetheless a reality. I don’t think this will happen...
Based upon a recent Univeristy of Washington study they are projected to have some 1400 deaths, versus California’s 6100 deaths. WA is projected to have 96 ICU beds short at the peak.

I’m mean. If someone has gang tattoos I say they should tell them adios.
they stopped production but the unfinished planes, jigs, assemblies are still inside. there are office buildings vacant, several just down the street from me.
Helpless, sit on your butt society. My Gov’t shall supply all your needs...
C’mon, use a bandana for a mask if you are so inclined, etc.
This is worse than Dumb and Dumber
"In the right way?"
The right way would be to conduct polls and public forums to let "The People" generate the policy.
You know, that old "by the consent of the governed" thing.
Remember that?
No? Figures.
The decision will be made regionally, so no one doctor or hospital will have to make the decision, Sauer said.
Yeah, just following orders.
There's something familiar about this...
.
See Ezekiel Emanual.
So Washington state will institute “death panels”?
where is the crisis?.....
now its just cya time...."lets pretend we're really worried"....
