The average overall GHS Index score is 40.2 out of a possible 100. While high-income countries report an average score of 51.9, the Index shows that collectively, international preparedness for epidemics and pandemics remains very weak.
translation: Johns Hopkins gets huge gobs of grant money from the CDC. They will always have their back.
Except that one country.
Something an old friend used to say at work :)
We’d get an email saying our company beat out all others in revenues an he’d say “except that one company”.

Read The Black Swan by Nassim Taleb
Centralized, bureacratic, top-down systems are paralyzed and destroyed by unexpected events. Diverse, dispersed, independent actors survive, can respond, and thrive with unexpected events.
American socialists have for years been trying to create such top-down, centrally-controlled and planned health and other systems in the USA. Thank God they havent fully succeeded.
Thats why the messed up response by CDC and FDA is so inexplicable and troubling. This should never have happened
The CDC doesn’t hand out money. It receives money.
I preface this comment by saying that we are following all the protocols etc. The scare tactics being pushed by some remind me of taking Driver’s Ed 55 years ago. During the in class part of the course, we were shown a horrific movie of the aftermath of bad auto accidents, including plenty of footage of dead/dismembered/crushed people being removed from cars and/or under cars etc.
Didn’t change our much too fast and risky driving one bit, but can you imagine that being shown to today’s teens? Oh, the trauma.

This article is self-serving to CDC and fawning by their ward Johns Hopkins.
BS.
I’m not surprised but the next tier has a surprise to me. Not the western European countries nor South Korea but Thailand.

Once they find out it is being touted by Trump for his campaign, they will revise the study to say the US was the worst prepared nation.
RE: Old article already posted.
A March 25,2020 article is old on March 26?
We’ve had a global fire drill, the world should be better prepared and we can see problem areas.
