I made an error typing in this little window. Math is good, but what I said is wrong.
It only takes .70% of a population of 1.4e6 to become infected to cause major problems and die off.
Remember, we have 3e8 people here in the states, roughly speaking.
Wasnt challenging...I was checking!
I take ibuprofen for a torn rotator cuff, that is elective to fix....so it will be at least a month to get it fixed.
But I am 60. So...I would hate to hurt my chances because my wife is compromised. I cant get infected yet.
Interesting, I didn’t know that.
There’s a young teenager here in the LA area who was the first reported case of a teen dying of Covid. Then today they withdrew that claim and changed it to “septic shock.” But if that’s the case then he could still have died of Covid.
Ive never heard of a flu where 14% of people require hospitalization
this story infuriates me.
I thought mt sinai was a premiere hospital. And they had to wore garbage bags
“You realize the flu - all combined strains have killed FAR more people this year than COVID right?”
Now scale CCP-19’s infection rate up to the flu’s infection rate and redo that calculation.
Never mind this has no vaccine and no herd immunity, is more contagious and can be spread by people before they show any symptoms.
Now scale CCP-19 up to the point at which we achieve a reasonable degree of herd immunity and redo that calculation.
Oh, wait, it spreads too fast for there to be enough recovered people to protect the rest of the herd.
So scale it up to unlimited community transmission and redo that calculation.
That’s why Wuhan’s, Iran’s, Italy’s and now NYC’s HCSs have crashed. Maybe Spain’s. Maybe LA’s. Atlanta’s. Madrid’s. London’s. New Orleans’.
Now superimpose the age-mortality distribution for CCP-19 on the age-population distribution for the US and try to guess how many people over 65 will be left after this runs it’s course if we simply pretend it’s the flu and do nothing.
So when you have redone all those calculations, come back and tell me it’s just the flu.
Now consider
That's just it, isn't it? A lot of people may have Afib for various reasons. Yeah, it's a common cardiac issue and the kicker is there are a bunch of people who have it who don't know they have it and/or are not getting proper care to diagnose and treat it. Wonder why that is?
Reading those two statements, in the way your post juxtaposes them, is as ironic as it is scary. It's incredible that anyone anywhere is calling this a HOAX still - after Italy, first hand accounts from known people and first-responders here... and just everything else.
My brother is in NY and this has killed three of his friends' family members. You have to have your temperature taken to get into supermarkets. Stuff like that doesn't happen during flu season. Our hospitals don't get critical beds and exasperated staff during flu season. During flu season, the entire nations medical and science communities (from whatever political persuasion) don't come out in unison like this and tell us this to take this very seriously. I could go on.
I just have FReepers in my inbox - what they describe is NOTHING whatsoever like flu season.
But this is a hoax - and you're, I'm sorry, just taking the position of a damned imbecile. Despite your being "involved with math professionally as part of my job" whatever that means.
oh I know...
its all anecdotal.
it may turn out to have no effect
but this virus is so wacky I have told all family to not take ibuprofen for anything right now
but none of them have any medical conditions where they regularly take it.
No. As you age your immune system degrades.
Exactly the same stats as everywhere else.
What does Copper do?
Watch out, next comes The Abortion Card.
Ill let you consider what that means.
only because of the zinc...taking zinc can cause copper issues.
And there is some reason I take Vitamin A and Zinc together but I cant remember what it is
Very informative thread. Thanks for posting it up.
And no one questions whether is just might be BS? If a doctor was really that busy with all of that, theyre going to take the time to write all that info on a blog? A Texas A&M blog for that matter?....come on people...use the brain youve been blessed with.
