President Donald Trump will not be eligible for any federal assistance stimulus package that the Senate agreed upon early Wednesday morning, draft text of the bill showed.
That draft text includes a provision to prohibit businesses controlled by the president, vice president, members of Congress, heads of executive departments and their immediate family members — spouses, children and in-laws — from receiving loans or investments from Treasury programs as part of the stimulus package.

Trump was asked during Sunday's White House coronavirus task force press conference if he would commit that none of the stimulus money would go toward his business. The president then lamented that "nobody cared" or said "thank you very much" that he has forgone the president's annual salary in excess of $400,000.
I have a feeling that Trump can fix this problem by using a court of law. It is purely political and illegal.
I haven't see the last phrase (and their immediate family members — spouses, children and in-laws) in any language. If it's there and survives, the Deep State and their corrupt politicians will achieve a big win
Political? Almost certainly. Illegal? No. The law covers Trump, Pence, senior members of the administration, and all members of Congress so it'd be hard to make a case its illegal.

Trump no longer runs the business. He runs the country. His kids run the business. Are they also mentioned in the bill?
Civilian Trump and Trump Inc. must employ a vast amount of workers worldwide and the DNC says FU because of Trump?
Give us the names of all the businesses that fall under that brought umbrella.

I understand Congress is likewise except. But there’s been specific verbiage added which is clearly directed at Trump’s “In laws”. We’ll have to wait to see if they’re stupid enough to leave it in.

The Pelosi's are big investors in wineries, hotels (Carnero's Inn) and restaurants in Napa Valley, IIRC. All those business should be exempt as well
After reading more of the text I see they do include his kids. What a shame. I wonder who they think is going to get hurt if the Trump empire collapses. Trump? Have you ever heard of an ex POTUS living in poverty? His family? I’m sure they have made provisions for themselves. The thousands of people who either work for or supply the Trump organization? That’s more like it. Ruin innocent lives for spite.
He could build a case that since his children are grown, his immediate family is Melania and Barron.
This, however, is a cheap shot at him to try to destroy him.

The left will try to smear Trump any way they can. From the beginning they were trying out the "domestic emoluments" clause art. II, § 1, cl. 7. I will be surprised if that doesn't come up in the stimulus debates. Maybe it already has.

i dont think Pres and his family has booked an entire floor at a hotel.. for their friends.. nor took 2, 3 planes to go on vacation, taking all their friends...imagine if they tried that!
But as we all know the laws only apply to republicans so the left will get all the bailouts they want.
