The amendment only addressed the amount of unemployment that someone could receive. The bill had a flaw where many people could make more from the unemployment, than they were when they worked.. As senator Cruz outlined, someone in Texas if they qualified for unemployment could receive $ 465 a week . Adding in this new $ 600, they would be making $ 1,065 a week Over $ 55,000 a year.. Their job may have only be paying $ 30,000 a year.
A reasonable correction, but Rats didn’t want that fixed, they wanted the oversight left in place.
We can only hope when we see what’s in it tomorrow, that the GOP did not cave on all the changes to voting regulations the Rats wanted, that would create millions of illegals votes - no ID required for mail-in ballots, no limit on mail in ballots, same day registrations.
