"By March 23 many of our largest cities & hospitals are on course to be overrun with cases."

So many with hysteria.
If you are an at risk person, take prudent measures for that.
If not, then take less prudent measures, equal to your circumstances and risk tolerance.
Dont have government mandate everything!
It gets even worse now that the sea levels have risen and all the coastal refugees are flooding the midland cities.
That is the whole point of the public health measure that have been taken - to prevent that eventuality imminently foreseeable if such measures had not been taken.
In 2017, when 900,000 people were hospitalized with the regular flu, there was no wailing about our hospitals being over-run. When 80,000 died there was no mention of it in the news.
I begin to see the first signs of the hysteria machines breaking. Wishful thinking maybe.
and they are pretty loaded.
Apparently with a healthy population we don’t have that much capacity.
I’ve heard that people were, are(?), freaking out that they have the virus and going to the hospital.
The overwhelming majority of them do not have the virus.
It is reasonable to an extent to be less concerned about areas with little activity to be less aggressive. The problems are several. If your area is open people escaping from NYC and such will come there. It might be more appropriate for a little casual relaxation with out broadcasting it. If we cant stop that hot spots will have to be surrounded with 82nd Airborne to keep them in. Enjoy your good fortune but you might want to keep it a little quiet for a while.
Only about 10-12% of the cases are hospitalized.
In Maine yesterday we had 107 cases, that works out to be about 12 hospital beds in the entire state.
Because our hospitals WERENT over run is why you didnt hear about it. Its like preparing for summer by making sure the AC works. If you know a flu epidemic is coming, you have Tamiflu and you manage the cases as they present. You know flu is coming and you have Tamiflu. No need to do these things.
It seems like stores are doing what i thought they should do.
Put amount small quantities of particular items throughout the day.
For instance yesterday i notice there wasn’t white cheddar cheese..but today there was about a dozen in the cooler.
Allowing seniors only access at certain hours is smart, too.
I don’t know if they are doing this but it would be smart if they put specific items like hand wipes and alcohol out so seniors can get items that are being stripped during regular shopping hours.
Someone should keep track of all the predictions being made.
It always happens. People are afraid they have the flu so they go to the doctor and those that didnt, during an outbreak, catch it there.
The hospital where I work is experiencing less volume than normal.
We stopped all elective surgery - o.r. is like a ghost town.
If a circus doesnt come to town those tents that we put up outside aint gonna be used for anything.
Looks like Trump-generated precautions prevented that!
Yeah, those rising sea levels are such a concern that bammy and mooch bought ocean front property! LOL!
